Frequently asked questions

Can I use Chordy offline?

Yes. Chordy is built offline-first. Your library starts locally on your device; sync is optional.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed for local use. An account only matters for optional sync, backup, and online features.

What happens if I use sync?

Chordy then processes the data needed for sync, backup, and account features through the Chordy backend service. Backend sync is currently in closed beta; local use remains independent from that.

Which file formats are supported?

Chordy supports ChordPro, MusicXML, Guitar Pro, PDF, images, HTML, and TXT, among others.

Are native Android and iOS apps available?

Native apps for Android and iOS are planned. For now, you can use Chordy directly in the browser at app.chordy.de opens in a new tab .

Is there tracking or advertising?

No. Chordy uses no advertising, tracking, analytics services, or automatic third-party crash reporting.
