Delete your account and data

Overview

Chordy is provided by Benjamin Klawitter. You can use this page to request deletion of your Chordy account and the related server-side data.

An account is not required for local use of Chordy. This request only covers data processed on Chordy servers for optional account, sync, and backup features.

Request deletion

Send an email to contact@chordy.de with the subject line “Delete account”.

Include the email address you use for your Chordy account. If the request does not come from that address, we may ask for a short confirmation from the account email address.

You can also submit the request through the contact form.

Data we delete

After a confirmed request, we delete server-side account, sync, and backup data unless legal obligations or legitimate documentation needs require retention.

• Account data and sign-in data associated with the Chordy account
• Device, library, folder, song, setlist, file, backup, change, and synchronization data stored on Chordy servers
• Server-side metadata needed for optional account, sync, and backup features

Data that is not deleted automatically

Local data on your devices is not removed automatically by server-side account deletion. To remove local data, delete content in the app, clear the app data in your system settings, or uninstall Chordy.

Files you already exported, downloaded, or shared outside Chordy cannot be removed by us from external storage locations.

Data may be kept longer where legal retention obligations apply or where we need to document the handling of your request.

Processing and retention period

We usually process confirmed deletion requests within 30 days.

Production server-side account, sync, and backup data is deleted or anonymized after processing is complete unless a legal obligation requires further retention.

Technical backup copies may remain for up to 30 days before they are routinely overwritten or removed.
